OUR EXPERIENCE

The Couture Awards was created by Suz Andreasen in 2006 in response to a percieved need for change within the structure of American jewelry prizes and awards. Ms. Andreasen founded the council along with other notable experts with the pupose of exploration of a new frontier in the field of jewelry design. Throughout her years of applying to events and juried awards, Ms. Andreasen discovered the demand for an award based on artistic merit alone.

Ms. Andreasen is a couture jeweler and has spent many years studying the history of jewelry design along with her craft. She is a member of the American Craft Council and the American Society of Jewelry Historians.
